Former Akuapem North MP, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei, has issued a cease-and-desist letter to journalist Kwaku Annan, threatening legal action over what she describes as “malicious, untrue, and purposely calculated”allegations made against her on his television programme, The Frontline.
Annan alleged on air that Adjei had been declared wanted by the Ghana Police in connection with a crime involving the publication of nudity. He also accused her of being a fugitive from justice and engaging in immoral conduct.
Legal Response & Denial of Claims
In a strongly worded letter from her legal representatives, Sima Consultancy, Adjei categorically denied all accusations, asserting that she has never been involved in any crime or declared wanted by any investigative body.
Her lawyers condemned the frivolous and baseless nature of Annan’s allegations, stating that his claims were deliberately aimed at tarnishing her reputation. They also criticized his journalistic ethics, accusing him of failing to verify information before broadcasting it.
Demands & Legal Warning
Asiamah-Adjei is demanding:
A full retraction of the false claims
An unqualified public apology aired on the same platform within 48 hours
Failure to comply, she warns, will result in legal action to seek damages for defamation.
