Corrections Policy

Insight Ghana is committed to accuracy, fairness, and accountability in all our reporting. We take factual errors seriously and act promptly to correct them when they occur.

How We Handle Errors

When a factual error is identified in a published story, whether through our own review process or reported by a reader, our editorial team verifies the claim against original sources and makes the necessary correction as quickly as possible.

Types of Corrections

  • Minor corrections: Such as spelling, names, dates, or figures, are corrected directly in the article without a separate notice.
  • Substantive corrections: Corrections that materially change the meaning or factual basis of a story are made in the article and accompanied by a clearly labelled correction note stating what was changed and when.
  • Clarifications: Added where the original wording was accurate but could reasonably be misunderstood, to improve clarity for our readers.

Correction Notices

Where a substantive correction is made, we append a note at the bottom of the article in the following format: “Correction (date): This article has been updated to [describe change]. An earlier version stated [original claim].” The article’s last-modified date is also updated to reflect the change.

How to Report an Error

If you believe a story published by Insight Ghana contains a factual error, please contact our newsroom at press@insightghana.com.gh with the article link, the specific claim in question, and supporting information where possible. Our editorial team reviews all correction requests and aims to respond within 48 hours.
