Nana Opoku Ware, son of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has been elected SRC President of the Ghana School of Law, winning in 3 out of 4 campuses with 35.93% of votes.
Who is Nana Opoku Ware?
Nana Opoku is the son of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and an alumnus of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), class of 2024. Known for his community service and philanthropy, he founded the Nana Opoku Ware (N.O.W.) Foundation, providing scholarships and water projects in Ejisu and Lake Bosomtwe.
A Resounding Win Across Campuses

The SRC election, conducted across four campuses—Makola, UPSA, GIMPA, and KNUST—on April 29 and 30, 2025, saw Opoku Ware emerge victorious with 35.93% of the total votes, winning in three of the four campuses.

In his victory address, Opoku Ware emphasized collective success, stating:
“Today’s victory is not just for Nana Opoku Ware but the student body as a whole.”
He pledged to run a transparent, inclusive, and student-focused administration during his term.

As the new SRC President, Ware succeeds Daniel Otting Awuah and is expected to advocate for student welfare, academic support, and institutional reforms. His background in leadership and social work positions him as a transformational figure.
