Award-winning Ghanaian media personality, Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, has shared a new update on his future with Media General after announcing his break from Onua TV.
In a video, the veteran broadcaster appeared alongside journalist and fashion influencer Akua Sarpomaa during his first public appearance after his announcement.
Exhaustion and Need for Rest
Addressing questions about his future, Captain Smart admitted he was exhausted from work and needed to take a break from the media scene. Appearing visibly sad, he explained that he needed to rest for a while to rejuvenate.
When asked about a possible return to Onua TV, Captain Smart said, “Myself and the TV station’s management were in discussions in the background to reach a decision.” Though he hinted at a return, his tone was not very convincing.

Captain Smart disclosed that his company is engaged in furniture sales. He added that he employs several people and has implemented a unique payment model where workers are paid weekly instead of monthly.
“So when we agree that I pay you this amount, I divide it and give you a quarter of it every week,” he said, explaining that the system helps his employees avoid financial hardship throughout the month.
His revelation came amid public speculation over his sudden break from Onua FM/TV. Some believe that his departure is linked to a possible government appointment following his outspoken criticism of the Akufo-Addo-led administration, while others think he is stepping away to focus on his business.
