Three people, including a woman, have been arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) following the alleged unauthorised operation of drones over its headquarters in Accra.

The incident occurred on Thursday, October 1, 2026, as security was heightened at the EOCO premises during the questioning of Manhyia South Member of Parliament Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah.

Sources cited by 3News said the drones were seen hovering over the EOCO compound for several minutes before officials traced the operators and arrested the three individuals suspected to be behind the operation.

The reason for flying the drones over the facility has not yet been established, while investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The arrests come shortly after EOCO secured a warrant from the Accra High Court for the arrest of Baffour Awuah. The warrant was obtained after previous efforts by the agency to get the MP to appear before investigators in connection with allegations of financial irregularities and financial loss to the state.

Baffour Awuah later reported himself to EOCO on Thursday, accompanied by his lawyer, Atta Akyea, to assist with the ongoing investigations.
