Duraplast to resume operations October 5 after fire outbreak

Duraplast Limited has assured customers, business partners and other stakeholders that it will resume operations on Monday, October 5, following a fire outbreak at one of its facilities in Accra.

The company said the fire and smoke incident occurred on October 1 and was successfully brought under control, with no further threat to its operations.

In a statement, management expressed appreciation to the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), the Mayor of Accra, the Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces, NADMO, ECG, Ghana Water and other security agencies for their prompt intervention.

Duraplast also thanked residents and neighbouring communities for their assistance and support during the incident.

“We are equally grateful to our neighbours and members of the community who came to our rescue and supported us during this difficult moment,” the company stated.

The company further expressed gratitude to its customers, business partners and other stakeholders for their concern, patience and continued support following the incident.

Duraplast assured stakeholders that operations would resume on October 5 and said it would continue to provide updates on developments.

“Every challenge leaves its mark, but it does not define our story. From the ashes, the rubble, and the dust, we will rise again — stronger, better, bigger, and more determined than ever,” management said.

The company added: “Like the phoenix, we rise not simply to return, but to rebuild, renew, and soar.”

Fire and smoke distress — this is how October 1st began at one of our sites.

We are deeply grateful to God that the situation has been brought under control, with no further threat to our operations.

Management and staff would like to express our sincere appreciation to the AMA and the Mayor of Accra, National Fire Service, Ghana Police Service, Ghana Armed Forces, NADMO, ECG, Ghana Water and all other security agencies who responded swiftly and worked tirelessly to fight and contain the fire.
