Three people have been injured and taken to the Kumasi South Hospital for medical attention following a stampede at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Delegates Conference at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
The incident reportedly occurred on Saturday, October 3, 2026, when a large crowd gathered at the conference venue and some attendees attempted to push their way through the congested area.

The rush that followed resulted in several people sustaining injuries, with one victim reportedly suffering a fracture. Others are said to have sustained minor injuries and were treated at temporary medical facilities set up at the venue.
Accra-based Citi News reported that paramedics from the Ghana National Ambulance Service encountered difficulties reaching and evacuating some of the injured because of the size of the crowd.

Following the incident, the police reportedly intensified crowd-control measures at the stadium to restore order and prevent further injuries.
