Kwabena Kwabena contests for UPSA SRC President

Celebrated Ghanaian highlife artiste, George Kwabena Adu, popularly known as Kwabena Kwabena, is set to make his mark beyond the music stage — this time in student politics.
According to his manager, Nana Poku Ashis, the “Adult Music” hitmaker is contesting for the position of Student Representative Council (SRC) President at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), where he is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree.

Kwabena Kwabena, who already holds a Higher National Diploma (HND) from Accra Polytechnic after his secondary education at St. Peter’s Secondary School, is following in the footsteps of other Ghanaian musicians who have ventured into student leadership.

Notable among them are:
- Samini, who became SRC President at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA),
- Guru, currently serving as the SRC President at the University of Ghana,
- And Dr Cryme, who recently won the SRC presidency at Methodist University.
Spotted on Campus
The highlife crooner has already been spotted actively engaging with students on the UPSA campus, sparking widespread speculation and excitement. Many students and fans are curious to see whether Kwabena Kwabena will succeed in joining the growing list of entertainers turned student leaders.

The UPSA SRC elections are scheduled for May 30, 2025, and anticipation is building as campaigning activities heat up.
If successful, Kwabena Kwabena’s victory will not only mark a new chapter in his career but will also reinforce the trend of Ghanaian celebrities deepening their involvement in academia and student leadership.
