Basintale Commends Volunteerism and Community Spirit

Basintale praised the group for their unwavering commitment to promoting environmental cleanliness. He emphasized the power of youth volunteerism in driving social change and noted its potential to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s sanitation development.

Zoomlion Contract Under Review

The engagement comes at a time when YEA’s sanitation module with Zoomlion Ghana Limited is under public scrutiny. Concerns have been raised regarding the cost-effectiveness and accountability of the contract. Basintale hinted at a possible review and reiterated the importance of exploring new, impactful partnerships.

To reinforce his commitment, Basintale made a personal donation to support the BuzStop Boys’ ongoing activities. Founded by Heneba Kojo Sarfo, the group has evolved from a five-member team to a registered 40-person waste management firm, championing weekly cleanups and community education on sanitation.

Towards a New Sanitation Future

This move by YEA signals a shift toward grassroots-oriented solutions, where accountability, transparency, and youth empowerment take center stage. Stakeholders are hopeful that such partnerships can bring a fresh wave of energy and integrity into Ghana’s sanitation space.
