Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Jinapor, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the Salaga Transmission Project, which is expected to strengthen Ghana’s electricity network and improve the reliability of power supply in the area.
The project forms part of the broader Eastern Corridor transmission development and includes the construction of a 330kV double-circuit transmission line stretching from the Adubiliyili area to Salaga.
It also involves the establishment of a new transmission substation at Salaga, designed to support the efficient distribution of electricity to communities within the corridor.
Speaking at the 10th anniversary celebration of the enskinment of Kpembewura Banbagne Ndefoso IV, Dr Jinapor said President John Dramani Mahama remains committed to the implementation of the project.
He explained that the investment would enhance the strength and stability of the electricity network while improving the quality and reliability of power supply to Salaga and surrounding communities.
“The occasion was a celebration of our rich cultural heritage, traditions, and the enduring bond between our people and traditional leadership.
“As we celebrate our heritage, we remain committed to delivering sustainable development and improving the lives of our people,” he said.
