The Ghana Education Service (GES) has been given until 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2026, to submit outstanding input forms and other documentation required to process allowances for teachers affected by the promotion exercise.
The deadline follows a meeting between the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and representatives of teacher unions on Monday, September 28, during which the minister assured the unions of the government’s commitment to addressing concerns surrounding the promotion process.Editorial Ethics & Independence
Head of Public Relations at GES, Daniel Fenyi, disclosed the development in an interview with JoyNews on Monday.
He explained that the directive was intended to give the Service one week to complete and submit the necessary documents to the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department.
According to Mr Fenyi, the department had emphasised that the outstanding input forms, together with other supporting documents such as promotion letters, were necessary to complete the payment process. Editorial Standards
“The Honourable Minister met them today (Monday, September 28) and gave them all the assurances.
He also mentioned that in case of the insistence of some input forms and documentations, I think he gave us until 4pm on Monday, October 5 to provide the input forms and all other necessary documentation, i.e. the promotion letter,” he said.
Mr Fenyi stressed that the deadline was specifically set for October 5, giving GES officials a week to compile the required records and submit them for further processing.
