In a statement issued on Thursday, September 17, KNUST said prospective students and their parents must exercise caution when dealing with individuals or groups who claim to represent the institution or promise to secure admission and accommodation on behalf of applicants.
The University stressed that only officially designated offices and authorised platforms are permitted to provide guidance on matters relating to admissions, fees, accommodation, hall allocation and room bookings.
KNUST’s warning comes as prospective students increasingly rely on digital platforms to obtain information about admission procedures and make arrangements for their stay on campus.
While online communication can make access to information easier, fraudulent individuals may exploit the demand for admission and accommodation to deceive applicants and obtain money or sensitive personal information.
The University specifically advised applicants not to send money to anyone who claims they can guarantee admission, secure a hall placement or arrange a room booking outside the institution’s approved processes.
