The Nana Yaw Kyere murder investigation has revealed details of a confrontation at a residence in Teshie Agbleza, the alleged disposal and burning of his body, and the subsequent sale of his iPhone 12.
Nana Yaw Kyere, also known as “Dinero”, was reported missing on September 22, 2026, three days after he left his residence at Kokomlemle in Accra in his Honda Civic and failed to return.
The Nana Yaw Kyere murder investigation, led by the Ghana Police Service’s Missing Persons Unit, has so far resulted in the arrest of three suspects identified as Philip Dzifa Kofi Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams and Josiah Obodai.
According to the Police, investigations and statements obtained from the suspects have helped piece together the events surrounding Nana Yaw Kyere’s final known movements.
Alleged confrontation at Teshie residence
Police investigations indicate that Nana Yaw Kyere was allegedly lured to Philip Tefe’s residence at Teshie Agbleza by Sarah Osei Adams.
The Police said both suspects later confessed to their alleged involvement in the incident.
According to the Police account, Philip Tefe allegedly got into a confrontation with Nana Yaw Kyere and attacked him with a metallic object.
The victim allegedly sustained injuries during the confrontation and was subsequently moved to another room, where he was left unattended.
He later died, according to the preliminary Police account.
Body allegedly transported and burnt
Following Nana Yaw Kyere’s death, investigators said his body was allegedly placed in a Kia Morning vehicle and transported to a location near the motorway on September 20.
The body was allegedly dumped in a bush and set on fire.
Partially burnt human remains were subsequently discovered at Community 18 on September 21, a day before Nana Yaw Kyere was officially reported missing.
His biological mother and an uncle later identified the remains at the Police Hospital morgue on September 24.
The discovery and identification of the remains have formed a major part of the Nana Yaw Kyere murder investigation.
Nana Yaw Kyere’s iPhone 12 allegedly sold for GH¢100.
Investigators also followed a lead involving Nana Yaw Kyere’s mobile phone.
The Police said they recovered his iPhone 12 and traced it to a buyer who allegedly purchased the device from Philip Tefe.
According to the Police, Tefe allegedly sold the iPhone 12 for GH¢100.
The alleged buyer, identified as Sunday Omeje, has been cautioned and detained for allegedly receiving the phone dishonestly.
The recovery and tracing of the iPhone 12 provided investigators with another lead into the movements of people allegedly connected to the case.
Kia Morning allegedly used to transport body
The Nana Yaw Kyere murder investigation also led Police to Josiah Obodai, who was arrested over the alleged disposal of the body.
Police said a Kia Morning belonging to Obodai’s father was allegedly used to transport the body.
The vehicle has since been impounded as part of the ongoing investigation.
Three suspects remain in Police custody
Philip Tefe, Sarah Osei Adams and Josiah Obodai remain in Police custody and are expected to be put before the court as investigations continue.
The Ghana Police Service said efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest other persons who may have been involved in the alleged kidnapping and murder.
The Nana Yaw Kyere murder investigation remains ongoing, and the details concerning the alleged confrontation, his death, the disposal and burning of his body, and the sale of his iPhone 12 are based on preliminary Police investigations and statements attributed to the suspects.
The suspects’ alleged involvement has not been established by a court and remains subject to the ongoing investigation and judicial process.
