The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) has commissioned a new office in Yendi as part of its efforts to expand access to its services across the country.
The new office is expected to serve residents across the Eastern Corridor, including Kpandai, Wulensi, Bimbilla, Zabzugu, Tatale, Gusheigu, Karaga and Saboba.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony in Yendi, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Operations at the DVLA, Yeboah Iddisah Seidu, said the new facility reflects the Authority’s commitment to providing efficient, accessible and customer-focused services to people across the country.
He said the office would ease the burden on residents of Yendi and surrounding communities who previously had to travel long distances to access essential services.
These services include vehicle registration, driver’s licence acquisition and renewal, change of vehicle ownership and roadworthiness certification.
“The commissioning of this office here in Yendi aligns with the Authority’s ongoing digital transformation and service expansion agenda, which seeks to improve operational efficiency, strengthen road safety and provide a seamless customer experience,” he said.
Mr Seidu urged residents to take ownership of the facility and support its staff to ensure it operates effectively.
He also called on staff to maintain high standards of professionalism, integrity and excellence in their dealings with the public.
The ceremony was attended by traditional leaders, officials from the Yendi Municipal Assembly, heads of security agencies, representatives of transport unions, members of the business community and other stakeholders.
The opening of the Yendi office marks another step in the DVLA’s efforts to bring its services closer to residents and improve access to driver and vehicle-related services across the country.
