Trophy and appeal verdict

CAF formally rejected Morocco’s appeal requesting that Senegal be stripped of the AFCON 2025 title on the grounds that Senegalese players temporarily walked off the pitch.

CAF ruled that the circumstances did not justify forfeiture, and as a result:

Senegal remain the official AFCON 2025 champions.

CAF stated that the sanctions reflect its commitment to safeguarding discipline, match officials, and the integrity of African football, warning that future misconduct at continental competitions will attract equally severe consequences.
