Scores of people sustained injuries following a devastating multi-vehicle accident at Krofrom, a bustling suburb of Kumasi, on Friday evening.

Cargo Truck Suffers Brake Failure

According to eyewitnesses, the chaos began when a cargo truck reportedly suffered brake failure while descending a major traffic intersection near the popular X5 Pub during a heavy downpour.

The out-of-control truck ploughed through multiple vehicles, including cars, motorbikes, and commercial tricycles—commonly known locally as ‘pragya’—causing widespread panic and destruction at the scene.

Passersby Rescue Trapped Victims

Amid the mayhem, concerned passersby bravely intervened, forcibly opening mangled vehicles to rescue trapped drivers and passengers.

Many of the injured were quickly rushed to nearby health facilities for emergency treatment. Eyewitness accounts describe scenes of chaos as rescue efforts unfolded in the rain.
