Mohammed Huzeinu, a 21-year-old football fan, has been sentenced to 100 days imprisonment by an Accra District Court for invading the pitch during Ghana’s match against Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, March 21, 2025.

His actions disrupted the game and could lead to financial penalties for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), as such incidents often result in fines from governing bodies.

Pitch invasions are considered a serious security breach, affecting the smooth running of matches and putting players and officials at risk.

The sentencing serves as a strong deterrent to football fans, reinforcing the need for discipline and adherence to stadium regulations. The GFA has repeatedly urged supporters to respect match-day protocols, warning that such disruptions can damage Ghana’s reputation in international football.

With this ruling, authorities are sending a clear message that security violations in sports venues will not be tolerated.

    Representative Council (UGSRC) for the 2026/2027 academic year,
    Abraham seeks to champion a vision centered on student welfare,
    accountability, inclusiveness, innovation, and effective representation.
