The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced an ambitious plan to inject over GHS 3 million into providing footballs for clubs across the topflight and lower divisions ahead of the upcoming season starting in September. This strategic move, which was initially launched last season, is designed to bolster club development and alleviate the financial strain of acquiring essential equipment.
During the 30th Ordinary Congress held at the Ghanaian Soccer Center of Excellence, GFA President Kurt Okraku disclosed a significant partnership with FIFA aimed at channeling $100,000 into purchasing footballs dedicated to grassroots football development. Okraku emphasized the importance of this initiative by stating, “Football is all about balls. So our strategic plan to collaborate with FIFA to invest $100,000 in the purchase of football for grassroots football development will be repeated.”
Furthermore, the GFA has committed an additional $100,000 investment specifically for colt clubs, underscoring the association’s unwavering dedication to nurturing young talent and equipping them with the tools necessary to succeed.
