This incidence was reported by UTV’s correspondent in the Western Region of Ghana. According to his reports, the teacher is alleged to be very close to the student whose identity has not been disclosed.

He is said to attend church service with the victim at times. However, on the 23rd of June, the man asked the 14-year-old-girl if she was available to attend a church’s all night service that was to be organized.

The victim told the teacher she will not be able to make it but her parents will come. He said okay and took the lead. Upon the arrival of the girls’ parents, the teacher left the church premises. This was around 10pm.

Jephta Ajaglu , the culprit, went to the victim’s house around this same said time and knocked continuously on the door. When asked why he was there, he used the excuse of his friend being unavailable and was asked by the victim to make himself comfortable in their hall since he’s a trusted individual.

He asked the girl to sit by him leading to the case of defilement. The victim lady being traumatized wrote a letter to the Teacher venting out what she was going through. He kept the letter in his book after reading it.

One faithful day during inspection by the head teacher of the institution, he chanced upon the letter and took further action. The teacher was taken to court and on the 13th of August, 2023, he was found guilty and sentenced to 12 years in prison.
