The Electricity company of Ghana has announced that it will start accepting mobile money, cheques or bank slips only from May 11,2023.

This means that all 300 ECG offices across the country will no longer accept physical cash.

Customers can now pay their bills conveniently by simply dialing the shortcode *226#.

However, if customers choose to go to the nearest ECG office to make payments, they must load their mobile money wallet and pay with it.
