Zanetor Rawlings Humbles Afenyo Markin and NPP MPs As She Gives Brilliant Submission
Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings has urged the government to adopt a more structured approach to youth development, calling for the integration of youth desks across all government institutions. Speaking in Parliament, she emphasized the need for technical skills training and a deeper understanding of youth attitudes to effectively address employment and education challenges.
Discussing the newly established Ministry of Youth Development, Dr. Rawlings stated, “A holistic approach to youth development requires embedding youth-centered policies in every sector.” She highlighted the need to align government initiatives with the realities young people face, particularly in education and employment.
Zanetor’s remarks came amid the 2025 Budget presentation, which outlined key allocations for Free SHS, school textbooks, NHIS, LEAP, road infrastructure, and district assemblies. The government reiterated its commitment to fiscal responsibility and social development.
However, her comments have sparked political controversy. Some ruling NDC members interpreted her submission as a direct challenge to the opposition NPP, claiming it exposed the weaknesses of Afenyo-Markin and other NPP MPsregarding youth policies.
