Tears Flow as Two Achimota Old Students Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident While Returning from Annual Bonfire Night

Two former students of Achimota School have tragically lost their lives following a fatal hit-and-run accident on the Achimota Highway on Friday, March 7, 2025.

The victims, Davida Asante Boateng and Lilian Akorli, both graduates of the class of 2024, were returning to their current school, UPSA, after attending their alma mater’s annual bonfire night when they were struck by a Toyota Corolla at around 11:30 p.m.

Driver Flees, Victims Succumb to Injuries

The driver fled the scene, leaving the two young women behind. Good Samaritans intervened and rushed them to the hospital. However, despite medical efforts, they tragically did not survive.

According to a statement from the Old Achimotan Association 2024, the victims were transported to the hospital at approximately 12:10 a.m. after the 11:30 p.m. accident.

  • Davida Asante Boateng succumbed to her injuries around 4 a.m. on March 8.
  • Lilian Akorli passed away a few hours later.

Authorities Yet to Respond

As of now, details about the culprit remain unknown, and authorities have not yet released any official statementregarding the investigation.

The Old Achimotan Association 2024 has expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and extended heartfelt condolencesto the families of the victims.

Seeking Justice for Davida and Lilian

With the driver still at large, many are calling for swift investigations and justice for the two young women whose promising futures were cut short.
