Tragic news has hit the boxing community as Nigerian boxer Gabriel Oluwasegun Olanrewaju has been confirmed dead after collapsing during a fight against Ghana’s John Mbanugu on Saturday, March 29, 2025.

The boxer slumped mid-fight at the Bukom Sports Arena in Accra and was immediately rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for urgent medical attention. Unfortunately, reports from JoyNews’ Nathaniel Attoh confirm that he did not survive.
