I was framed to prevent my running mate nomination – Prof. Gyampo on BBC exposé

Renowned political scientist, Professor Ransford Gyampo, has revealed that the “Sex for Grades” scandal was a deliberate plot to tarnish his reputation and block his nomination as a running mate.
Allegations Were Baseless – Prof. Gyampo
Speaking on 3FM with Blakk Rasta, Prof. Gyampo dismissed the allegations, emphasizing that there was no evidence to support the claims.

“You didn’t see me having sex with anybody, and you didn’t see me doing what they claimed. If there was no student, there was no sex, so what do you talk about?” he questioned.
A Political Conspiracy to Stop His Rise?
He further alleged that his selection as a running mate was what triggered the smear campaign.
“I was the one selected to be a running mate, but someone around the person opposed it. To prevent that, they threw dust into the air so that by the time it settled, the person proposing me would change their mind.”

Vindicated and Moving Forward
After undergoing due process, Prof. Gyampo was exonerated, reinstated, and even promoted at the University of Ghana. He also noted that his people still trust him, having voted for him twice in elections after the scandal.
Despite the ordeal, he remains focused on the future, choosing to learn from the experience rather than dwell on it.
