The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted five police officers for their role in the swift arrest of suspects involved in a robbery attack at a GOIL fuel station at Kwafokrom in the Eastern Region.
The promotion follows what police authorities have described as a “professional, intelligence-led and courageous” operation that led to the apprehension of the suspects shortly after the incident, reinforcing public confidence in the Ghana Police Service’s response to violent crime.
The robbery, which occurred at the Kwafokrom GOIL station, sparked concern among residents and business operators in the area, with calls for heightened security presence and decisive action against armed criminals targeting fuel stations and commercial outlets. Within hours of the incident, however, the police mounted an operation that resulted in the arrest of the alleged perpetrators, preventing further escalation.
