Napo Says Bawumia Has the Experience and Readiness to Lead the NPP to Victory
Former Minister of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, widely known in political circles as Napo, has publicly reaffirmed his strong support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the ideal candidate to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the next national election cycle. Addressing party delegates in the Bono Region, Napo emphasized that Bawumia possesses unmatched preparation, experience, and vision to steer the party to a decisive electoral victory.
Speaking to a hall filled with enthusiastic delegates, local executives, and party faithful, Napo highlighted Bawumia’s track record as a key figure in economic management and digital transformation initiatives over the past years. He stated that Bawumia’s journey from being a technocratic vice presidential candidate to a national political leader has given him the depth of knowledge and strategic understanding needed to unify and energize the party.
According to Napo, the NPP is approaching a critical moment, as it prepares for its internal flagbearer election scheduled for January 31, 2026. He believes that choosing the right leader is essential for ensuring party cohesion and electoral success. Bawumia, he said, has demonstrated maturity, innovation, and bold leadership qualities that the NPP needs in order to remain competitive and appealing to the Ghanaian voter base.
Napo also commended Bawumia’s ability to connect with grassroots supporters across the country. He referenced the numerous regional tours Bawumia has undertaken, during which he has engaged delegates, youth groups, traditional leaders, and business communities.
