“Chiamaka Ifezue Found Guilty of Murder: Latest Updates on Enugu Makeup Artist Case”

On Wednesday, February 7, 2024, in a two-hour verdict, the court overseen by Honorable Justice Kenneth Okpe declared Chiamaka Ifezue guilty of causing the death of the victim( 27 year old makeup artist) by coercing her into consuming a poisonous substance. The incident stemmed from the disappearance of Ijeoma on November 11, 2020, after she left for work.

Her mutilated body was later discovered around Maryland in Enugu metropolis on November 16. Ifezue and her brother, Chukwuemeka, were apprehended and charged with conspiracy and murder in 202.

They were accused of compelling Nneke to ingest a lethal substance leading to her demise, dumping her body in the Maryland area of Enugu, and applying a corrosive substance, suspected to be acid, to it. While Chukwuemeka was discharged after a no-case submission, Ifezue was found guilty of murder and sentenced to death by hanging.

The court, basing its decision on the prosecution’s evidence led by Chinelo Chigbo from the Department of Public Prosecution, concluded that Ifezue was accountable for the death of the 27-year-old makeup artist from Enugu. Police exhibits related to the alleged murder were admitted as evidence during the trial.
