The Member of Parliament for Lambussie, Prof. Titus K. Beyuo, has appealed to the Ministry of the Interior and security authorities to review and lift the curfew imposed on Hamile following a recent explosion that claimed three lives and injured 13 people.
He made the appeal in an urgent statement on the floor of Parliament, following the incident on November 3, 2026, which left 13 people injured, including one person who is reportedly in critical condition.

Beyuo said the security situation in the community had improved following engagements with various stakeholders, expressing confidence that calm had returned and residents were gradually resuming their normal activities.
He disclosed that he visited the affected community the day after the incident, accompanied by security personnel, to commiserate with bereaved families and visit those receiving medical treatment.
According to the MP, the injured persons were recuperating, adding that he had taken responsibility for their medical bills and would continue to support the bereaved families as they cope with their loss.
While acknowledging the importance of the curfew when it was initially imposed, Beyuo said its continued enforcement had placed a significant burden on residents and disrupted their daily activities.
He therefore urged the Ministry of the Interior and security leadership to reconsider the restriction in light of the improved security situation.
The MP also called on security agencies to expedite investigations into the explosion to establish its exact cause and the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Beyuo further commended the Minister for the Interior and the security services for their timely intervention, which he said helped prevent further escalation, injuries and loss of lives.
