According to Mr George, the fibre infrastructure was damaged during ongoing road construction activities along the affected routes.

He said Telecel engineers had been deployed to the affected locations to work on restoring services, while another team was engaging the road contractor to halt excavation activities and minimise the risk of further damage to telecommunications infrastructure.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience, but I am confident the engineers will restore service as quickly as is practical,” Mr George said.
