Madina Member of Parliament Francis-Xavier Sosu reportedly lost his balance and appeared to slump while delivering a speech at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
The incident happened as the legislator was speaking about his leadership journey and the various opportunities he has had to serve in different capacities.
During his address, Sosu reflected on his early days at St John’s Grammar School, where he began his leadership experience as a class captain before progressing to become an SRC executive, General Secretary of the SRC and eventually Senior Boys Prefect.
However, his presentation reportedly became difficult to follow as he appeared to struggle with his movement and became seemingly incoherent while speaking.
Two individuals close to him quickly noticed that something was wrong and moved in to assist after he appeared to lose his balance.
They managed to support him before he could fall completely to the ground.
The development immediately changed the mood in the auditorium, with the gathering falling silent as attendees turned their attention to the MP’s condition.
Sosu was subsequently helped out of the auditorium by people around him.
The exact circumstances that led to the incident were not immediately known at the time of reporting.
