Former National Vice Chairperson of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sophia Horner-Sam, has died at the age of 77.
Horner-Sam, a veteran politician and diplomat, served Ghana in several public positions during her career, including as Deputy Western Regional Minister and Deputy Minister for Ports, Harbours and Railways.
She later served as Ghana’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, where she represented the country in diplomatic engagements.
Beyond her public service career, Horner-Sam played an active role in the NPP and rose to become the party’s National Vice Chairperson.
Her passing marks the end of a long career in Ghana’s political and public administration circles, with much of her work closely linked to the Western Region.
She was regarded as an experienced member of the NPP whose knowledge and years of service contributed to the party’s activities.
Details surrounding her death, as well as information on her funeral arrangements, have not yet been made public.
