GMet warns of thunderstorms and rain across parts of Ghana

    The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has warned residents in parts of the country to expect thunderstorms and varying degrees of rainfall from Saturday evening into the night.

    According to the agency’s evening weather forecast issued on Saturday, September 12, some areas are expected to experience thunderstorms accompanied by light to moderate rainfall, while mostly cloudy conditions will dominate other parts of the country.

    GMet further cautioned that mist and fog patches could develop during the early hours of Sunday, particularly across coastal, forest and mountainous areas.

    Some coastal and forest zones are also expected to record slight to moderate rainfall during the morning hours.

    The agency additionally reported that sea conditions remain rough and advised the public, particularly those who engage in marine activities, to exercise caution as the weather conditions persist.

    Residents are encouraged to stay alert and take the necessary precautions in areas affected by thunderstorms, rain, mist and fog.
