Tipper truck rams into school bus carrying 11 pupils on Dzorwulu–Accra mall road

A loaded tipper truck has crashed into a Benz Sprinter school bus carrying about 11 lower primary school pupils on the Dzorwulu–Accra Mall section of the N1 Highway.

The incident reportedly occurred after the tipper truck rammed into the rear of the school bus, which bears the registration number GT-5717-14, along the busy road.

Images from the scene show extensive damage to the vehicles, with visible blood stains raising concerns that some of the occupants may have sustained injuries. However, the exact number of casualties has not yet been confirmed.

Personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) have arrived at the scene and are assessing the situation to determine the full extent of the crash and the appropriate response.

The GNFS has indicated that an official update will be issued after the assessment is completed.

The accident has resulted in heavy traffic congestion on the Dzorwulu Accra Mall stretch as emergency responders work to manage the situation and ensure the safety of those involved.

Motorists travelling along the route have been advised to exercise caution and comply with instructions from emergency personnel at the scene.
