Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson is expected to present the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament today, providing an update on the country’s economic performance and outlining the government’s fiscal priorities for the remainder of the year.

The review is anticipated to assess the implementation of the 2026 Budget Statement, highlighting progress made during the first half of the year while setting out measures to sustain economic recovery and strengthen public finances.
Members of Parliament, businesses, investors and development partners are expected to closely monitor the presentation for policy announcements that could influence government expenditure, revenue mobilisation and the broader economic outlook.
The budget review is also expected to provide updates on Ghana’s engagement with the International Monetary Fund following the successful completion of the Extended Credit Facility programme, as well as the country’s planned transition to the Policy Coordination Instrument to support macroeconomic stability.

Economic analysts say the statement will offer a clearer picture of the country’s fiscal performance and indicate whether government is on course to meet its economic targets for 2026. They also expect the Finance Minister to address developments relating to inflation, exchange rate stability, debt management and key investment priorities.
The Mid-Year Budget Review forms an important part of Ghana’s fiscal calendar, allowing government to evaluate its performance, respond to emerging economic challenges and adjust policies where necessary to maintain growth and economic stability.

Debate on the budget review is expected to begin in Parliament after the Finance Minister’s presentation, with Members of Parliament scrutinising the government’s performance and proposed policy direction for the rest of the year.
