Ghana’s Producer Price Inflation (PPI) declined to 3.5% in June 2026, down from 5.6% recorded in May, according to the latest figures released by the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS).
The data also showed that the month-on-month PPI recorded a decline of 3.7%, reflecting a reduction in producer prices during the period.
The Industrial Producer Price Index (I-PPI) inflation rate also dropped to 3.3% in June from 6.0% in May, representing a decrease of 2.7 percentage points. On a monthly basis, the I-PPI fell by 4.2% between May and June, indicating a decline in industrial producer prices.

The GSS noted that the various industrial sub-sectors recorded mixed performance over the past year. Industry excluding Construction experienced periods of growth and decline before easing to an index of 294.9 in June 2026.
The Manufacturing sector also showed gradual movements throughout the period, while the Mining and Quarrying sub-sector recorded the highest index values, reaching a peak in October 2025 before moderating in subsequent months.
The Electricity and Gas sector remained relatively stable despite some fluctuations, recording steady growth over the year, while the Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation Activities sub-sector also posted gradual increases.

Within the Manufacturing sub-sector, 14 of the 23 major industry groups recorded inflation rates above the sector’s average of 3.5% in June. The manufacture of fabricated metal products, excluding machinery and equipment, recorded the highest inflation rate at 26.3%, followed by the manufacture of leather and related products at 19.1%.
Meanwhile, the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products recorded the lowest inflation rate of -2.3%.
In the Mining and Quarrying sub-sector, the extraction of crude oil and natural gas recorded an inflation rate of 5.0%, while inflation for the mining of metal ores declined from 6.5% in May to 0.7% in June. Mining support service activities recorded an inflation rate of 5.8% during the period.
