The African Caribbean Sustainability & Investment Initiative (ACSII) and The Africa Guide have announced a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening tourism, trade, investment and cultural collaboration between Africa and the Caribbean.

The partnership marks a significant step in advancing practical cooperation between the two regions by bringing together organisations committed to reshaping Africa-Caribbean engagement through tourism development, strategic dialogue, diaspora connection and economic collaboration.

The announcement follows The Africa Guide’s successful virtual panel discussion, The Africa-Caribbean Tourism Partnership, held on 27 June 2026. The event convened tourism leaders, policymakers, destination marketers, communications professionals, investors and diaspora advocates from both regions to examine how stronger partnerships can unlock new opportunities for sustainable development.

Hosted under the theme, “We Share the Roots. Now Let Us Build the Route,” the discussion reinforced a growing consensus that Africa and the Caribbean possess significant untapped potential for collaboration that extends far beyond their shared history.

Speaking on the significance of the partnership, David F. Roberts MSc, Founder and Chairman of the African Caribbean Sustainability & Investment Initiative, said the collaboration represents an important milestone in transforming dialogue into measurable action.

“This partnership represents another important step in building the institutional bridges that will transform Africa-Caribbean cooperation from aspiration into action. Tourism has the power to unlock investment, strengthen cultural understanding, expand trade and create sustainable economic opportunities for both regions.”

Dr. Vicki L. Otaruyina, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Africa Guide, said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to moving beyond discussion and creating practical opportunities for collaboration.

“Our panel demonstrated that the appetite for Africa-Caribbean collaboration has never been stronger. This partnership enables us to build on that momentum by supporting initiatives that strengthen tourism, encourage investment, connect the diaspora and create meaningful economic and cultural impact.”

Both organisations also intend to work together on a number of flagship initiatives with the first being the ACSII trade-bridge mission to Barbados happening Sep 22-25, 2026.

For Africa, the partnership comes at a time when governments, businesses and tourism organisations are increasingly seeking to diversify markets, strengthen regional cooperation and deepen engagement with the global African diaspora. Improved connectivity between Africa and the Caribbean is expected to create opportunities for tourism growth, business partnerships, cultural exchange and sustainable investment across multiple sectors.

The collaboration also aligns with broader efforts to position tourism as a catalyst for economic development rather than simply a leisure industry. By combining strategic storytelling with investment promotion and stakeholder engagement, both organisations hope to contribute to a more connected and commercially active Africa-Caribbean ecosystem.

As global interest in Africa continues to grow, partnerships that encourage knowledge exchange, business collaboration and authentic representation are becoming increasingly important. The ACSII and The Africa Guide partnership seeks to contribute to this emerging landscape by creating platforms that connect governments, investors, entrepreneurs, tourism leaders and diaspora communities around shared opportunities.

While the partnership begins with tourism and strategic dialogue, its broader ambition is to help build lasting institutional relationships that generate tangible economic, cultural and social benefits across both regions.

For many observers, the announcement signals another important step in the evolving relationship between Africa and the Caribbean, demonstrating that collaboration rooted in shared heritage can also become a powerful driver of future prosperity.
