The 2026 edition of the Youth Economic Forum (YEF) brought together more than 2,500 students, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and industry leaders at the Kofi Ohene-Konadu Auditorium of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

Organized by the Business & Financial Times, the forum focused on youth participation in economic development under the theme “From Potential to Prosperity: Youth Driving the New Economy.”

According to Nicholas, Team Lead and member of the YEF Secretariat, the initiative was designed as more than a single-day event, but a year-round platform for youth engagement and economic dialogue.

“We wanted YEF to move beyond being just an event and become a community that continuously connects young people to opportunity,” he said.

The event featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, startup pitch sessions, and networking engagements aimed at equipping young people with practical skills and exposure to opportunities within Ghana’s growing economy.

A major component of the forum was its ambassador program, which engaged 100 student representatives across various institutions to support outreach and participation efforts ahead of the event. Organizers also hosted a series of online webinars to sustain engagement and expand participation beyond Accra.

The 2026 edition also attracted media coverage from Joy News, Joy Business, Channel One TV, and Metro TV.

Organizers say the Youth Economic Forum continues to position itself as a platform connecting young talent with industry stakeholders, with a focus on entrepreneurship, innovation, and policy engagement.
