Wayve has raised US$1.2 billion in a Series D funding round aimed at scaling its artificial intelligence powered autonomous driving technology across global markets, marking one of the largest investments in the self driving sector in recent years.

The London based company, which develops end to end AI systems for autonomous vehicles, said the fresh capital will be used to expand commercial partnerships, deepen research and accelerate deployment beyond its existing testing environments.
