The Premier League has officially unveiled the eight nominees for the EA SPORTS Player of the Month award for January, recognising players whose performances stood out across goals, assists, creativity and overall influence during a highly competitive month.

At the forefront of the nominations is Igor Thiago of Brentford, who enjoyed a prolific January in front of goal. The Brazilian striker scored five goals during the month, taking his season tally to 16 goals, and played a crucial role in Brentford’s rise up the league table. His strength, movement and finishing have made him one of the most effective forwards in the division.

Patrick Dorgu of Manchester United also earns a spot on the shortlist following a series of impressive all-round displays. Known for his versatility, Dorgu contributed with both goals and assists, offering energy, balance and attacking drive from multiple positions as United looked to stabilise their form.

Chelsea’s midfield engine Enzo Fernández is another standout nominee after a dominant run of performances in January. The Argentine international was instrumental in controlling games, combining composure on the ball with incisive passing and timely goal contributions. His leadership and consistency were key as Chelsea sought momentum in the league.

Liverpool are represented by Florian Wirtz, whose creativity and attacking intelligence lit up January fixtures. The German playmaker consistently unlocked defences with his vision and movement, while also contributing goals and assists to keep Liverpool competitive at the top end of the table.

From Brighton & Hove Albion, Yasin Ayari earns recognition after delivering composed and influential midfield performances. Ayari impressed with his work rate, ball retention and ability to transition play, helping Brighton maintain their attacking identity while remaining disciplined defensively.

Junior Kroupi of Bournemouth is nominated following a breakthrough month that saw him play a decisive role in key matches. The young forward’s direct attacking style, movement off the ball and goal contributions proved vital as Bournemouth picked up important points.

West Ham United’s Crysencio Summerville is also among the nominees after showcasing his flair and attacking threat. The winger’s pace, dribbling ability and end product caused problems for defenders, with his contributions playing a major part in West Ham’s January performances.

Rounding out the shortlist is Harry Wilson of Fulham, who delivered several influential displays marked by creativity and crucial goals. Wilson’s ability to dictate play from advanced areas and step up in decisive moments made him a standout performer for the London club.
