Minority says Kpandai election was transparent and voters chose Nyindam freely

The Minority Caucus in Parliament has reaffirmed its position that the Kpandai parliamentary election was conducted in a transparent, credible, and orderly manner. Addressing journalists after the declaration of the results, Minority representatives stated that the people of Kpandai exercised their democratic rights freely and overwhelmingly chose Nyindam as their preferred candidate.
According to the Minority, the electoral process was marked by peaceful voting, consistent procedures across polling centers, and active participation by election observers. They dismissed suggestions of irregularities or manipulation, arguing that such claims were unfounded and aimed at undermining public confidence in the electoral system.
Minority leaders highlighted that the Electoral Commission (EC) deployed well-trained officials and ensured compliance with established voting protocols. Ballot materials arrived on time, biometric verification devices functioned effectively, and counting was conducted openly in the presence of party agents from all sides. They praised the professionalism displayed by the EC staff throughout the process.
They also emphasised that security personnel maintained order without interfering in the voting. Communities in the district, they said, demonstrated commendable civic responsibility by turning out in large numbers and conducting themselves peacefully. According to them, the outcome reflected the genuine will of the people, not external influence or procedural flaws.
Supporters of Nyindam celebrated the victory, describing it as a testament to his consistent engagement with the community and his track record of addressing local development challenges. Many residents expressed satisfaction with the process, stating that the campaign period was competitive yet peaceful, and that polling day was smooth and transparent.
Civil society groups who monitored the election also shared observations that aligned with the Minority’s position. They noted that the election met the necessary democratic standards and that any minor administrative issues encountered did not materially affect the results.
However, the Minority called for political actors to refrain from spreading misinformation or inciting tension. They urged all parties to respect the will of the electorate and allow the community to move forward with unity and a focus on development.
As debate over the election outcomes continues, the Minority remains firm in its stance: Kpandai’s residents spoke clearly through the ballot box. They stated that Nyindam’s triumph was a reflection of democratic choice, and that the electoral process should be celebrated as a model of peaceful civic participation.
