Mfantsipim School has once again emerged victorious at the 2025 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), clinching their fourth national trophy and successfully defending their title in a thrilling grand finale.

In a fierce showdown held at the University of Cape Coast, Mfantsipim squared off against fellow finalists St. Augustine’s College (Augusco) and Opoku Ware School (OWASS). By the final round they had secured 56 points, leaving St. Augustine’s College with 42 points and Opoku Ware School trailing at 29 points. The victory not only reinforces Mfantsipim’s status as a powerhouse in Ghana’s academic competitions but also positions them as one of the few schools to win back-to-back NSMQ titles.

Observers hailed the 2025 final as one of NSMQ’s most exciting editions, with all three schools performing at elevated levels and keeping spectators fully engaged. Mfantsipim’s edge came from a blend of speed, accuracy and consistent performance in each round, especially when it mattered most.

The NSMQ has consistently served as a benchmark for academic performance and the 2025 edition will be remembered for the high stakes and elevated quality of competition.
