Hakimi Denies Allegations

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defender Achraf Hakimi has spoken publicly for the first time about the rape allegations against him, strongly denying any wrongdoing and insisting he is the victim of a false accusation.

Speaking to Canal+, the 26-year-old Moroccan international, recently nominated for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, said he remains calm and confident despite the severity of the charges stemming from an alleged incident at his home in February 2023.

“I’m calm. But being falsely accused is horrible and unfair. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone,” Hakimi said, stressing that he has nothing to blame himself for.
“People who know me understand who I am. I’m focusing on my family and football. I know the truth will come out.”

If convicted, Hakimi could face up to 15 years in prison, as prosecutors push for the case to proceed to trial at the Hauts-de-Seine criminal court in France.

Hakimi’s Defence and Counterclaims

Hakimi has consistently maintained that the encounter in question was consensual, accusing his accuser of attempted blackmail. His legal team has described the prosecution’s stance as “incomprehensible and senseless,” pointing to contradictions in the woman’s testimony.

New evidence reported by French outlet L’Équipe could strengthen Hakimi’s defence. Messages retrieved from the complainant’s phone allegedly suggest premeditation. During police questioning, the woman admitted to a psychologist that:

“We kissed, I wanted it to end, but I didn’t really make it clear.”

Career Amid Controversy

Despite the ongoing legal battle, Hakimi has enjoyed one of the most successful seasons of his career. He played 63 games for PSG, scoring 13 goals and delivering 15 assists. His performances were instrumental in helping the French giants secure a historic treble — including their first-ever UEFA Champions League title.
