A Ghana Air Force Z-9 helicopter carrying eight people, including Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has reportedly crashed near Adansi Akrofuom in the Ashanti Region. The chopper was on its way to Obuasi when the incident occurred.

According to early reports from security sources, three crew members and five passengers were aboard. Four persons are feared dead, although official confirmation is yet to be released.

Emergency Response Underway

The incident has sparked a swift response from emergency and military personnel. Eyewitnesses in the Adansi Akrofuom area said they saw thick smoke and heard a loud explosion before the crash site was located. Rescue teams are currently retrieving victims and assessing the situation on the ground.
