Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, popularly known as Nana Agradaa, has finally addressed the viral video that shows the National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, handing her money. Speaking out, Agradaa disclosed the exact amount, aiming to set the record straight and calm the heated public debate.

The Viral Video That Sparked Public Outrage

The controversy began when a trending video surfaced on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In the footage, Sammy Gyamfi is seen standing beside his white Range Rover as Agradaa demands dollar notes from him. The clip quickly went viral, with critics accusing Gyamfi of distributing NDC party funds openly on the streets of Accra.

Agradaa: “It Was Just $1,000 for Fuel”

Clarifying the incident, Agradaa stated that the money she received was not an extravagant sum. “The amount was simply $1,000, and it was given to me to buy fuel for my car,” she explained. By disclosing the figure, she hopes to dispel rumors of large-scale cash handouts.

Agradaa Declares Her Support for the NDC

Taking the opportunity, Nana Agradaa also reaffirmed her support for the NDC. She revealed that she has consistently contributed to the party’s activities, even allowing her home to be used as a campaign venue free of charge.
“I have helped the NDC a lot. They have used my house for campaigns without paying a pesewa,” Agradaa claimed.

Past Allegations Against Sammy Gyamfi Resurface

The incident comes as fresh fuel to earlier allegations from 2024, where Sammy Gyamfi was accused of using party funds to sponsor a lavish trip to Miami with his wife. Gyamfi has repeatedly denied these claims, dismissing them as politically motivated attacks aimed at tarnishing his image.

Public Reaction and Ongoing Questions

While Agradaa’s clarification may ease some of the public tension, the viral video has reignited broader concerns about transparency within political circles. As Ghana edges closer to its next general elections, the public continues to scrutinize political figures and their actions more closely.
