The CEO of the Business & Financial Times (B&FT), Dr. Godwin Acquaye, has called on financial industry leaders to rise to the occasion and actively contribute to Ghana’s economic reform journey. Delivering his opening address at the 2025 Money Summit held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City, Accra, the CEO emphasized the timeliness of the gathering as Ghana undergoes significant financial restructuring.

“We gather here today at a particularly crucial moment in our national economic journey,” he remarked. “Ghana’s recent engagement in the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme is a difficult yet necessary step toward restoring market stability and rebuilding investor confidence.”

With the theme “Optimizing Investment and Pensions Management: Strategies for Sustainable Retirement Income and Economic Growth,” this year’s summit drew top-tier economists, investment professionals, policymakers, and business leaders.

In his remarks, the CEO urged industry experts not to shelve their knowledge but to share their expertise boldly and constructively. He also expressed gratitude to all sponsors and partners who helped make the summit possible.

The Money Summit, hosted annually by the Business & Financial Times (B&FT), is one of Ghana’s premier financial dialogue platforms. The 2025 edition focused on sustainable investment strategies, the future of pension systems, and the broader role of financial planning in economic development. Against the backdrop of Ghana’s domestic debt restructuring, the summit created space for dialogue on restoring investor confidence, enhancing transparency, and promoting responsible financial behavior. Participants also explored how to leverage innovation, education, and regulation to support a resilient financial ecosystem.

As Ghana navigates post-restructuring economic realities, the summit provided a critical space for thought leadership, networking, and the exchange of impactful strategies for economic resilience and retirement sustainability.
