The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame A Plus, has taken to social media to reflect on the transient nature of power, making remarks that many believe are directed at former President Nana Akufo-Addo.

A Reflection on Power and Humility

In a tweet posted on March 7, 2025, A Plus drew attention to how drastically circumstances can change for those who once wielded great influence. He recalled how a certain political figure, during his time in office, carried himself with immense authority—so much so that an official Toyota Land Cruiser was designated to transport his special chair.

A Change in Status

A Plus compared that past grandeur to a more recent event, Ghana’s 68th Independence Day celebration, where the same individual was seen seated on an ordinary chair—far removed from the luxury and influence he once enjoyed. Even more striking was his deference to Ghana’s new Vice President, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang.

“Fast forward a few months, and the same man was at the Independence Day event, seated on an ordinary chair. When the Vice President walked in, he stood up to welcome her,” A Plus tweeted, highlighting the stark contrast in the man’s current reality.

A Lesson on the Temporary Nature of Power

A Plus concluded his reflection with a lesson on the impermanence of political authority. “Life teaches us lessons. Power isn’t permanent. Tomorrow always comes. Next time, you might just find yourself sitting on a kitchen stool!”

His post has sparked discussions about leadership, humility, and the inevitability of change in political fortunes. Many social media users have interpreted his words as a subtle but pointed reference to former President Akufo-Addo, emphasizing how time has a way of humbling even the most powerful.
