The Ghana Meteorological Agency has released a 24-hour weather forecast, effective from 6 AM today, November 13, 2024. Weather conditions will vary by region—Coastal Zone, Middle Belt, Transition Belt, and Northern Belt—with partly cloudy skies and misty mornings across much of Ghana. Certain areas may also experience thunderstorms or rainfall in the afternoon and evening hours. Here’s a comprehensive breakdown by zone:

Coastal Zone

  • Morning: Partly cloudy skies with temperatures around 24°C. Mist is expected in some coastal areas, particularly along the coastline.
  • Afternoon: Mostly sunny with temperatures climbing to 32-33°C. Thunderstorms with a 30% chance of rain may affect areas such as Cape Coast, Takoradi, and Axim.
  • Evening: Partly cloudy with temperatures around 27-28°C. Thunderstorms and a 30% chance of rain are forecasted for Accra, Kasoa, and Aflao.

Middle Belt

  • Morning: Misty conditions with temperatures ranging from 22-24°C.
  • Afternoon: Expect partly cloudy to sunny skies, with temperatures increasing to 32-34°C. A 30% chance of thunderstorms is expected in certain areas.
  • Evening: Thunderstorms with a 40% chance of rain are expected over most of the Middle Belt, with temperatures falling to 27-29°C.

Transition Belt

  • Morning: Mostly cloudy and misty with temperatures around 22-24°C.
  • Afternoon: Sunny weather with temperatures peaking at 32-34°C. Sunyani and Kintampo have a 30% chance of thunderstorms in the late afternoon.
  • Evening: Partly cloudy skies with temperatures around 29°C. A 30% chance of thunderstorms may occur in Sunyani and Goaso.

Northern Belt

  • Morning: Dry and slightly hazy conditions, with temperatures between 18-21°C, and scattered clouds.
  • Afternoon: Hot and sunny with highs of 34-37°C.
  • Evening: Mostly clear skies with few clouds and temperatures around 31-34°C. Conditions will remain fairly dry and slightly hazy throughout the region.

Calm sea conditions make it favorable for coastal activities today.


Summary

Ghana will experience partly cloudy weather across much of the country, with mist or fog patches forming in forested and coastal areas in the early morning.
