President Mahama Appoints Matilda Asante-Asiedu as 2nd Deputy Governor of Bank of Ghana

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Matilda Asante-Asiedu as the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG).

The appointment, announced on Monday, April 22, 2025, follows the vacancy created at the central bank and is part of efforts by the Mahama administration to strengthen economic management and financial oversight. Mrs. Asante-Asiedu, a seasoned banker and finance expert, is expected to bring her vast experience in banking, policy formulation, and regulatory frameworks to the role.

According to a statement from the Presidency, her appointment is in line with Article 183 of the 1992 Constitution, which mandates the President to appoint the Governor and Deputy Governors of the Bank of Ghana in consultation with the Council of State.
