Ghana Publishing Company Begins 24-Hour Shift System to Boost Productivity

The Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL) has officially introduced a 24-hour shift system to enhance its productivity and improve service delivery to the public. This new system is part of a broader plan to modernize the company’s operations and support Ghana’s vision of a round-the-clock economy.

Three Shift System to Ensure Continuous Operations

The 24-hour system will be divided into three shifts, allowing staff to work in turns around the clock. This will ensure that the company’s printing and publishing services continue without interruption.

The Acting Managing Director of GPCL, Nana Kwasi Boatey, explained that the system will help the company make full use of its modern equipment and skilled workers. By working continuously, GPCL will be able to handle more projects and complete them faster.

The introduction of this shift system also supports the government’s goal of establishing a 24-hour economy in Ghana. The government aims to encourage businesses and state institutions to work in shifts to increase overall productivity and create more employment opportunities.

GPCL’s adoption of the 24-hour system sets an example for other state-owned enterprises to follow. By working round-the-clock, GPCL hopes to contribute to national economic development while improving the quality and timeliness of its services.

Benefits to Customers and the General Public

With this new system, customers can expect faster processing times for publications, including government documents such as Acts of Parliament and Legislative Instruments. The continuous operation will also reduce backlogs and ensure that essential information reaches the public without delays.

Additionally, GPCL plans to enhance its services by fully rolling out an Electronic-Gazette system. This platform will make it easier for the public to access official government publications online. The company also plans to introduce an Electronic-Shop where customers can place orders for printing and publishing services through a digital platform.

A New Era for Ghana Publishing Company

The 24-hour shift system marks a significant milestone in GPCL’s modernization journey. By combining advanced technology, improved processes, and dedicated staff, the company aims to position itself as a leader in Ghana’s publishing industry.

The Ghana Publishing Company believes this transformation will not only improve its internal efficiency but also enhance its contribution to Ghana’s economic development and public service delivery.
