Kumasi: Notorious Armed Robber Jailed 120 Years

A Kumasi-based armed robber, Isaac Agyei alias “Rider”, has been sentenced to 120 years in prison by the Asokwa Circuit Court. He was found guilty on multiple counts of robbery and conspiracy, following a series of violent operations that left victims severely injured and traumatized.

According to police reports, Agyei and his accomplices carried out a spate of robberies across different communities in Kumasi, often attacking victims in their homes and on the streets with weapons. His arrest followed months of investigations and tip-offs from the public.

Court Proceedings and Sentencing

Presiding Judge His Honour Frederick Nawura handed down the sentence after the accused was found guilty of five separate robbery charges. The sentences, ranging from 20 to 30 years each, will run consecutively. The court considered the heinous nature of the crimes and the psychological harm caused to the victims.
